Pramuka Island is the main island in the Thousand Islands cluster (Kepulauan Seribu), Jakarta, Indonesia. Many travelers are going to Pramuka Island first before they do island hopping to other islands in Thousand Islands because the accomodations, equipments, restaurants, supplies, and other facilities are primarily available in this island. Pramuka Island is located in the middle of Thousand Islands. It is 2 – 3,5 hours north trip from Jakarta to Pramuka Island depending on which kind of transportation you use.
How to Get There:
Wherever you come from, you have to reach Jakarta first before continuing to go to Muara Angke or Marina Ancol to get a boat trip to Thousand Islands (Kepulauan Seribu). Remember that the boat is only available at 6-7 o’clock in the morning unless you want to go to the resort islands so you don’t need to go earlier in the morning cause the resort’s boat will pick you up.
The cost that you have to pay for the boat from Muara Angke to Pramuka Island is Rp 30.000, while the boat from Marina Ancol (the fastest one) costs Rp150.000.
There are many homestays that you can rent for a room or a house. Homestay with 3 rooms costs around Rp 450.000/house/night.
